AOC joins the team and solves a big challenge

As we move to the final design of our state of the art UAV, screen real estate is becoming a major priority due to the large assemblies and multi-body parts we are working with. While it’s easy to zoom in to see the small details, the lack of screen real estate to the left and right of the area you are working on can mean that you miss things or have to continually zoom in and out.

Above is what you see on a 27” screen.

While there is considerable screen area, there is a lot of the UAV that is out of view. This can be partially solved by putting 2 large monitors side by side, but the line in the centre (the edge of each monitor) is problematic because, for us, the centre of your screen is the most crucial area.

Once one moves up to a 49” monitor, the advantage is immediately visible.

We are always grateful when we find companies like AOC who are as passionate about conservation as we are. Through their partnership, we have been able to install their 49” AG493UCX curved screens on our design stations fundamentally changing the way we work.

The AG493UCX not only bring lots of screen area to the party but also brings exceptional 5120 x 1440 resolution, the equivalent of two 27″ 2560×1440 pixel screens side by side.

In addition the blue light filtering feature means we can spend more time in front of the screen with less eye strain.

We are very glad to have AOC join SolidWorks and Mecad Systems as our Premier Project Partners, helping us succeed with this ambitious project.
